The world's most pivotal moment for child protection

The inaugural Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children was held on November 7-8, 2024, in Bogotá, Colombia.

This landmark event to secure new political and financial commitments to prevent and end violence against children was co-led by the governments of Colombia and Sweden, and organized in collaboration with WHO, UNICEF, and the SRSG-VAC.

TfG and the Brave Movement are honored to participate.

Break the Record

This campaign launch celebrates the first-ever global prevalence data on sexual violence against children. We called on policy makers to break that record of inaction to ensure safe and healthy childhoods. In doing so, we also broke the Guiness World Record for the most countries represented at a childhood violence summit!

The first Global Survivor Council

The Brave Movement lead the coordination of a Global Survivor Council (GSC) via an open application process.

The GSC brings together individuals from survivor-led networks across the globe, who can speak to all forms of violence against children. It played a crucial role in ensuring continuous survivor engagement in the design and delivery of the conference as well as the final political declaration.

Our ultimate advocacy push is for all governments to create and endorse national survivor councils.

Governments must prioritize these councils, ensuring that policies don’t just scratch the surface but truly meet survivors’ needs and shield future generations from the deep and lasting wounds of abuse.
