Millions of children worldwide experience violence, exploitation, and abuse in environments that should be safe—homes, schools, and communities.
These harms leave deep scars that affect not only individuals, but also families, societies, and entire generations. Despite its scale, this crisis remains hidden by silence, stigma, and inadequate systems of accountability.
This is not an issue confined to any single region. Data shows that children in both the Global South and Global North face alarming rates of violence, yet progress on prevention and justice remains uneven. Addressing this crisis demands global solidarity, survivor-centered approaches, and systemic reforms that ensure children’s safety, dignity, and rights.Â
By linking survivor-led advocacy to global platforms like the G20, the conversation will push for stronger recognition that violence against children is an urgent, shared crisis that requires coordinated global action.

The Red Dot Foundation is a United Nations ECOSOC-accredited non-profit that works on gender equity, safety and justice. Safecity, its flagship program is a mobile and web platform that crowdsources personal stories of sexual harassment and abuse in public spaces. Safecity data, which can be anonymous, gets aggregated as hot spots on a map indicating trends at a local level. The strategy is to make this data useful for individuals, communities, and local governments to identify factors that lead to violence and to improve public safety.
The Brave Movement is a global movement of survivors and allies working to end childhood sexual violence. Our campaigns demand bold, urgent action—holding governments, institutions, and tech giants accountable. We push for prevention, healing, and justice, and survivor-led solutions to protect future generations from harm.
