AI-generated sexual abuse and exploitation is growing. 3,440 AI-generated videos of child sexual abuse were found in 2025, compared to just 13 in 2024.
Close to Home is a new film from The Survivors Trust that highlights the growing threat of AI-generated child sexual abuse images and the devastating impact it can have on young people and their families.
At the heart of the film is Maisy, a 13-year-old girl whose life is turned upside down when sexually explicit AI images of her are created and shared online. What begins online quickly creates opportunities for further exploitation in her school.
We want to show: Online harm can lead to real-world grooming, coercion and abuse.
Because child sexual abuse and exploitation isn’t something that happens somewhere else.
It can happen close to home.
